¶ “Vestas Books 65 MW European Trio” • Vestas has announced three new onshore wind turbine orders in Europe totaling 65 MW. It will supply five V136-4.5MW machines to Eurowind’s 23-MW Oster Strarup wind farm in Denmark, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027. Other orders came from Denmark and Italy. ¶ “RWE Commissions Sinntal Solar Project” • RWE has just commissioned its first PV project in Hesse, Germany, with the Sinntal solar farm now generating electricity from around 17,450 modules. ¶ “Elgin To Invest €200 Million In Solar Power Farm” • Energy business Elgin is to invest €200 million in a solar power project it has bought from the Irish arm of German player, GP Joule. ¶ “Germany Sets PV Record, Produces Three Times As Much Solar Power As Australia So Far This Year” • By 27 September, Germany’s net electricity from solar had reached 90.2 TWh, exceeding the total of 90 TWh for last year, according to data from Fraunhofer ISE. ¶ “Alito Steps Aside In A Major Climate Case” • Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito recused himself from a climate-change case after calls to step aside because he holds stock in oil companies. A letter posted in the case did not specify a reason, but Justice Alito has recused himself from other cases involving companies where he holds stock. [ABC News]
¶ “The Human Cost Of Data Center Pollution” • Last week, the Environmental Protection Network released a report saying “AI data center pollution can make people sick.
