§ The most recent reported status of US nuclear power plants  can be found at the US Nuclear Power Report, a distressingly dull account of NRC news, posted when the NRC gives us news to post. On January 23, out of 94 US-licensed power reactors, 4 were at reduced output and 2 not operating.

§ Video: Energy Week #657 – 1/8/2026: China has a huge solar farm that is changing the nature of the desert it is in. Old solar panels are working just fine at the age of 30. BYD is selling more fully electric cars than Tesla. California has put 21 GW of solar into areas that cannot support agriculture any more. The Trump administration is being sued over orders to stop work at offshore wind farms. A report commissioned by the state of Hawaii says nuclear power is not viable there.
